Bethany Blackburn Joins NSCHC as CEO
Please join our board and staff in welcoming Bethany Blackburn to North Side Christian Health Center!
Bethany started as our new Chief Executive Officer in August 2021. Previously she worked for nine (9) years at UPMC, first as Administrative Director for the Center for Care of Infectious Diseases, which included the HIV/AIDS program, and more recently as Assistant Administrator at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. While at Children’s Hospital, Bethany oversaw the business administration and operations of seven (7) subspecialties. Additionally, Bethany was a founding member of AIDS Free Pittsburgh, a collaborative between UPMC, AHN, the Allegheny County Health Department, and multiple community-based organizations which focus on the reduction of HIV infections and eliminating AIDS in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Prior to making Pittsburgh her home, Bethany worked for BJC Healthcare in St. Louis, and as a budget analyst for the City of Santa Clara in California. Bethany also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cote d’Ivoire on incoming-generating projects and infrastructure development with a rural health center. Within her community, Bethany is a Girl Scout leader and serves on multiple boards. As a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Bethany embraces the sacred worth and value of all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, legal status, or sexual orientation.
Bethany is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts with a degree in Economics and French studies and she holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
