Marching with Pride: Advancing Health Equity Through Inclusive Care
Team members from North Side Christian Health Center (NSCHC) proudly marched in the Pittsburgh Pride Parade on Sunday, June 1 , standing in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and lifting up our core belief that all are welcome in our clinic, in our care, and in our community.
Our participation was more than symbolic. It was a public affirmation of our promise to the community: to deliver whole-person, respectful, and dignified healthcare to everyone, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, income, or background. We believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and cared for, and that true healing begins with inclusion.
As a faith based Federally Qualified Health Center, NSCHC is deeply rooted in the values of compassion, justice, and equity. These values drive our work every day as we serve patients across the Northside and surrounding neighborhoods, many of whom have been historically excluded from traditional healthcare systems.
Marching alongside thousands of Pittsburghers—friends, patients, family, and allies—our team proudly carried forward the message that “All Are Welcome” is not just a slogan. It’s a commitment to every individual who walks through our doors that they will be met with care, kindness, and respect.
We are grateful to our incredible staff for representing NSCHC with purpose, pride, and heart, and to the city of Pittsburgh for creating space to celebrate identity, love, and community.
This is more than care. It’s transformation.
