Healthcare Services
North Side Christian Health Center provides patients with primary and preventive health care services to improve health and well-being. Our practice sees patients of all ages, from infants to senior citizens. In keeping with the teachings of Christ, NSCHC warmly welcomes all persons without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, or political beliefs.
MEDICAL
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), all services are available on a sliding fee scale to income eligible, persons. We welcome Medicaid and most commercial insurance products for adults and children. North Side Christian Health Center provides patients with primary and preventive health care services to improve health and well-being. NSCHC services include physical exams, cancer screenings, gynecological exams, and sick visits. Our children’s services include well child visits, immunizations, and vision and hearing screenings.
DENTAL
Our dental services include fillings, crowns, bridges, partial and full dentures, extractions, root canals, and minor oral surgery, within our scope of expertise. When other dental services are required, our dental staff will provide patients with a referral to a reduced cost specialist when possible. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, all dental services are available on a sliding fee scale to income eligible, persons. We welcome Medicaid and most commercial insurance products for adults and children.
On Mondays at Middle Street and Wednesday afternoons at our Northview Heights office, your children can receive their check-up, vaccines, and visit with the dental hygienist - all in one visit.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH / COMMUNITY WELLNESS SERVICES
NSCHC offers outpatient behavioral health services to children, youth, and adults that are staffed by licensed counselors, social workers and psychologist. Staff specialty areas include common conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, stress and trauma related disorders, and the integration of spiritual care with counseling, forensic behavioral health evaluations and USCIS naturalization exam exemption evaluations. Our Community Wellness Initiative extends preventive behavioral health services and education into our broader community focusing on cultural factors that impact holistic health.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
As an FQHC, the health center provides patients with access to reduced-cost prescription medications through the 340 Drug Pricing Program. The 340B Drug Discount Program is a federal government program that requires drug manufacturers to provide out patient drugs to eligible health care organizations and covered entities at significantly reduced prices. Patients of NSCHC may access reduced-cost medications through mail order or our local Rite-Aids, Giant Eagle, and Medicine Shoppe.
NSCHC partners with both University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University programs to provide onsite counseling and education on medication management to our patients.
LABORATORY
To improve the quality of care for our patients, NSCHC offers several laboratory tests on-site free of charge to our patients, we are a Pennsylvania Dept. of Health C.L.I.A. certified laboratory (30505A).
For further laboratory studies, we are able, as an FQHC, to partner with two national diagnostic laboratories to provide free or reduced-cost lab testing for eligible patients.
