MobileDerm Stops at NSCHC

Dermatology has often focused around white skin conditions. UPMC dermatologist and University of Pittsburgh professor, Dr. Alaina James, is working to change this.

Dr. James and her team created MobileDerm — packing up their equipment and traveling to medical practices in need of dermatological care. MobileDerm strives for skin care equity by adjusting medical education to include people of color and providing accessible care to all. MobileDerm is usually on site at NSCHC the mornings of the second Tuesday of every month.

MobileDerm is the feature of the most recent WQED Just a Minute documentary which was filmed at North Side Christian Health Center.
