In the midst of cold and flu season, I want to remind you that NSCHC is here to help keep you and your family safe and healthy this time of year. At our Middle St and Northview Heights locations, we offer flu and COVID testing, flu and COVID vaccines, as well as appointments with our trained medical providers to evaluate you and treat you when you’re sick. We ask our staff and patients over the age of 2 to wear masks while in the office to decrease the spread of respiratory viruses. Same-day or next-day appointments are typically available for those that are sick and in need of an urgent visit. Please call or request an appointment through the portal to schedule.

We continue to offer routine and preventative medical care as well, including physicals and check-ups, immunizations, cancer screenings, family planning services, chronic disease management, and on-site lab testing for children and adults. With the addition of Amy Hopper, CRNP, Dr. Annie Sprogell, MD, and Dr. Nancy, Park, MD to our team this year, scheduling an appointment is now much easier with shorter wait times. Sick and routine appointments are available on Wednesday evenings and on Saturday mornings at our Middle St location. Starting in January 2023, we will also have Saturday morning hours available at our Northview Heights office on the first Saturday of each month.

Lastly, it is with mixed emotions that I share with you that I am leaving North Side Christian Health Center at the end of January 2023. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as Chief Medical Officer and help lead the health center through the pandemic. As a pediatrician here for more than 6 years, I have also had the incredible honor and privilege of caring for your children. Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to witness their growth and development through infancy, early childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. Many of you have also seen my family grow during this time, and now, with three young children at home, I am transitioning to a part-time position at Children’s Express Care to allow a bit more flexibility and time for my family.

I leave this special place knowing it is in good hands, including my friend, colleague, and fellow pediatrician, Dr. Dallas Malzi. He cares for patients from birth to 18 years of age at both our Middle St and Northview Heights locations, including my own children! Dr. Sprogell and Amy Hopper will also be accepting new pediatric patients and they will do a wonderful job caring for you children as they grow.
